Letter: Feeling regretful

I would like to make a public apology to the River Falls Police. I gave them a run for their money last Saturday.

I made the mistake of drinking at a time of emotional distress. As I was walking home from the bar, the police pulled me over to make sure I was OK.

In hindsight they were trying to keep me safe. I just wanted to get home, and I became irate when they insisted on bringing me to the police station to call someone to get me home safe.

I reacted in a way that I never would have in a sober state of mind, and I feel very regretful for my behavior.

They made a good decision and who knows what could have happened as I was walking alone in an alley after bar closing?

I am grateful for the help they offered despite my resistance. I am sorry for making their job difficult that night!
