Regional pairings for soccer, baseball, softball set
The Wildcat girls’ soccer and baseball teams will open their respective WIAA regional tournaments at home next week while the softball team will play its opening round game at Hudson. The Wildcat girls’ soccer and baseball teams will open their respective WIAA regional tournaments at home next week while the softball team will play its opening round game at Hudson.
Both the baseball and softball playoffs get underway on Tuesday, May 31, while soccer first round games are scheduled for Thursday, June 2.
The Wildcat baseball team drew the No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Menomonie at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the high school field.
A win over Menomonie would send the Cats to the regional final Friday, June 3, at No. 4 Marshfield. The sectional semifinals and finals are scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, in Wisconsin Rapids.
The seventh-seeded Wildcat softball team will face No. 2 Hudson at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Hudson’s Grandview Park. A win would send the Cats to either No. 3 Eau Claire North, or No. 6 Eau Claire Memorial for the regional final Thursday, June 2.
The undefeated Wildcat girls’ soccer team earned the No. 1 seed in its regional and will host a first-round game against No. 8 New Richmond on Thursday, June 2. The regional finals are slated for Saturday, June 4, and the sectional semifinals Thursday, June 9, at the home of the highest remaining seed.
The sectional finals are scheduled for Saturday, June 11, in Wausau.
