Three Wildcats finished in the top ten individually to lead the River Falls boys’ golf team to a seven-stroke victory over Hudson in the Big Rivers Conference Golf Tournament Wednesday, May18, at Clifton Hollow Golf Course.

River Falls posted a team score of 327 while Hudson took second with 334. Eau Claire North was third with 338 followed by Eau Claire Memorial with 344, Rice Lake with 346, and Chippewa Falls and Menomonie each with 347.

Hudson’s Luke Burbach took medalist honors with a round of 77 while River Falls’ Blake Heiman was one of four players tied for second with 80. Holden Ohlsen finished sixth with a score of 81 while Garrett Loomis tied for seventh with 82. Jake Knotek rounded out the Wildcat team score with a round of 84.

The Wildcats’ tournament victory left them in second place in the final season standings behind Hudson. The Cats needed the Raiders to finish third at Wednesday’s tournament to have a chance to at least share the conference title.

Loomis earned the BRC’s Player of the Year award for his play during the season and in the tournament while Knotek and Ohlsen earned All-BRC Second Team honors. Ohlsen defeated teammate Heiman in a six-hole playoff Wednesday to clinch the final spot on the five-player second team.
