A teenager in Ashland had to call the police while committing a burglary, because he got trapped under a heavy trailer and needed help getting out. Police said it happened late April 10, when an 18-year-old Ashland man climbed through the rafters to enter a locked garage behind the city’s only high school.

Police Lieutenant Greg BeBeau said officers are not sure about the motive. But the garage had an ATV, and BeBeau said the teen apparently tried to get to it by moving a heavy trailer out of the way.

It appeared that a jack gave way on the trailer, and it pinned his legs. He managed to call for help and suffered only minor injuries. The teen was sent to jail for a previous parole violation.

BeBeau said he thought he saw everything in his 25 years in law enforcement, until this happened.
