Letter: What she says, what she means

The free campaign ad (guest columns) from Sheila Harsdorf in last week’s Journal makes it clear that Sheila still cannot speak clearly about what is going on with Walker’s budget. So here is another attempt at translation.
Sheila says: Loud minority will not stop vital reform. Sheila means: We seem to be alienating our supporters and energizing our opponents, but we must push on with our radical and partisan agenda.
Sheila says: Middle class taxpayers need a voice, too. Sheila means: I will continue to ignore the calls and e-mails from my constituents
Sheila says: I know working families can’t afford huge tax increases. Sheila means: We will cut state aid to schools and local government anyway, but will not consider any tax increase on the rich under any circumstances.
Sheila says: Voters in November chose to reverse course. Sheila means: I will ignore the massive swing of votes against Walker’s Supreme Court choice and will pretend that nothing has changed.
I am amazed at how out of touch Sheila has become. For me, this recall election can’t come soon enough.
