Sheila Harsdorf is a radical who evades honesty, thus her recall is amply justified.
She attached a rider to a budget bill that exempted a few parcels from floodplain regulations in Pierce County.
As a result, the feds threatened to cease all disaster payments to homeowners, businesses, and farmers, and cancel everyone’s flood insurance policies.
Taxpayers had to waste money to defend against federal enforcement action and a lawsuit that eventually declared her budget rider to be grossly unconstitutional.
Harsdorf advanced failed legislation that would have required all units of government to pay triple damages to the culprit, not injured parties, if they sought to impose controls on nuisances, pollution, or dangerous conditions on lands owned by irresponsible people or businesses.
Sheila Harsdorf supports giving away state property, the destruction of public schools while requiring taxpayers to pay for rich kids to go to private schools, requiring community recycling while taking away funding, and allowing businesses and the wealthy to plunder state resources.
She insists that she said she would do these things in her campaigns. My public school education must indeed be inadequate as I could not comprehend those actions in what she said or what was written while she was running for office.
Harsdorf’s run for the Senate was one of the most expensive in history, fueled largely by outside big money from corporations and the wealthy that poured cash into her campaign. She is proving that these outside interests are her master.
Harsdorf believes that the government should not help the old, young, or infirm, yet Harsdorf farms has panhandled many thousands of dollars from federal, state, and local units of government.
Sheila Harsdorf has got to go.
