Music festival ushers in spring

Kevin Kniebel and J. Lenz of the roots and bluegrass band Pert Near Sandstone played to a standing-room only crowd Friday at Junior’s Bar and Grille. Attendees to the city’s inaugural bluegrass music festival said people packed all the places in River Falls featuring live music.
The weekend included local, regional and national acts that played in different taverns around town throughout Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Musicians also held free workshops for people to learn about the fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin.
