Amy Christmas, 27

Amy L. Christmas, age 27, of Hudson, died unexpectedly at Hudson Hospital on Saturday, March 12, 2011.

Amy was born on March 18, 1983, to Tony Hickman and Jill Peters in St. Louis Park, Minn. She grew up and attended school in Rockford, Minn. In 2003, Amy was married to James Christmas of New York, N.Y. The two were married at the Peace Garden on Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Minn. That marriage would be blessed with two children, Zoe and Isabel. The marriage later dissolved and Amy moved to River Falls, Wis. While there, Amy met Shad Deal. This relationship would be blessed by a son, Shad Jr. Recently, Amy had moved to Hudson and was looking forward to attending college this fall at UW Eau Claire.

Amy was an active woman who enjoyed both reading and writing fictional stories. She was currently working on her own novel. She enjoyed spending time and traveling with friends and family. During the summer months she enjoyed spending time outdoors and on camping trips. She was a talented singer and really enjoyed music.

Amy is survived by her friends and family. This includes her children, Zoe and Isabel Christmas of Glenwood City and Shad Deal Jr. of River Falls; mother, Jill Peters (friend, Bill Gustafson) of River Falls; father, Tony (Nina) Hickman of Redondo Beach, Calif.; grandparents, Frank and Joy Peters of Hopkins; former husband, James (Vicki) Christmas of Glenwood City; Shad (Nikki) Deal of River Falls; Uncle Jay (Patricia) Peters of Portsmouth, R.I., as well as other relatives and dear friends.

A funeral service for Amy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. A visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.
