Al & Angel Duratti open this week their second retail location, Angel’s Pet World Too, at 1331 N. Main St. They’ve had another store in Hudson for seven years –minus the “Too.”

“We’re shooting for the 1st,” said Al late last week, as everyone hustled around the store, assembling displays and schlepping dog food to and fro.

He said talks about the 1,300-square-foot space began in November last year and ended with a lease signing in January. Al said the faces people will see are his and that of Manager Maggie Wells, who’s worked at the Hudson store for three years.

River Falls store hours will be 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday.

He says the store will be all “dry goods” though may carry some live crickets – for feeding to reptiles – and ornamental fish. Customers will find the shelves and racks bearing pet food, treats, collars, leashes, toys, grooming tools, litter-box supplies, bedding, shampoo, pans and other items.

As part of the offerings, throw in treats ranging from rawhide to all-natural, herbal remedies, vitamin supplements and animal greeting cards.

“We’re absolutely open to special orders,” said Al.

He says though they did their market research, the Durattis aren’t yet sure how demand will shape up in River Falls.

Al says if someone wants a certain brand or item they don’t see on the shelf, he encourages them to ask about it. They can also transfer items from their Hudson store like horse feed, wild bird seed, or engraved ID tags.

Angel said, “We’ll be a full-line dogs and cats.”
