Home meet Sunday

The River Falls Gymnastics Club Teams, the Stars and the Rockets, consisting of girls ages 9-14 from Baldwin, Woodville, Ellsworth, River Falls and Hudson, opened the season by taking second in their respective divisions at a competition in Highland Park, Minn., in early December.

After a cancellation due to weather in Northfield, Minn., they traveled last Sunday to Maple Lake, Minn., where both teams earned first place trophies. This Sunday, Jan. 16, the girls will host an 18-team meet at River Falls High School beginning at 12 p.m. Team members include, front row from left, Karissa Danielson (Woodville), Anna Perry (Baldwin), Samantha Krueger (River Falls), Maddie Raverty (River Falls) and Gina Bjork (River Falls). Second row, Jenna Hovde (Baldwin), Karin Sollom, (River Falls), Kelly Maier (River Falls), Claire VanValkenburg (Hudson) and Morgan Ista (River Falls). Third row, Sonja Kelly (River Falls), Alyssa Paulson (River Falls), Haley Shilts (Ellsworth), Bailey Kusilek (River Falls), Kelly Hirsch (River Falls), Maddie Nelson (Hudson) and Olivia Matzek (Ellsworth). In back are coaches Rachel Paulson and Megan Peters.
