River Falls recognized for participation

Residents and business owners in River Falls were recently recognized for reaching a milestone of customer participation in River Falls Municipal Utilities’ Renewable Energy program.
At 6.3%, customer participation in RFMU’s residential program is more than three times the national average as determined by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory for 2009. NREL is the U.S. Department of Energy’s primary national laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development.
River Falls was recognized by WPPI Energy at the nonprofit power supplier’s annual Building Community Connections workshop last month and awarded $2,500 for environmental education activities in community schools and other public institutions.
