River Falls Community Fund will host a breakfast seminar on how to donate the sale proceeds of real estate at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the West Wind Supper Club. Speaker, Jerry McCarter, CPA, heads up the Minnesota Real Estate Foundation, an affiliate of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation in St. Cloud.

“Real estate provides a viable charitable giving opportunity,” says McCarter, “but it’s not easy. Nonprofit organizations and community foundations usually don’t have the staff expertise to handle these gifts on their own. That’s where we come in.”

Real estate requires special skills to evaluate, time to liquidate, and has a risk associated with holding and liquidating. The Minnesota Real Estate Foundation, in concert with the St. Croix Valley Foundation and the Amery Community Foundation can help facilitate this process.

Realtors and financial advisors are encouraged to bring interested clients to this meeting.
