This winter wear distribution is aiming to help kids keep warm despite financial situations. Kids age 0 to 18 living in Pierce County and nearby communities are invited to get fit for the items they need with inventory available.
Basics for Local Kids distribution event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Seyforth Building at the Pierce County Fair Grounds.
The facility is wheelchair accessible. Families will be asked to fill out a simple request form on-site before volunteers assist the kids with picking out the winter wear items. Free-will donations will be graciously accepted, but not required.
Those not able to attend the distribution can make a request for items by e-mailing
These requests will be filled on a case-by-case basis as inventory allows. Individual requests will not be filled until after the distribution on Oct. 30.
Monetary donations are still needed for boots and items that don’t get donated. Donations will continue to be accepted through the winter months.
