The St. Croix Valley Master Gardeners happily invite everyone to visit the well-prepared, special exhibit areas at the entrances and center pole in the Progress Pavilion during Farm Tech Days July 20-22.
It’s a fabulous opportunity for the whole family to learn and ask questions. Bring a baggie or good picture with that nasty weed or plant problem you are having and let “Dr. Death,” Dr. Brian Hudelson, identify the problem.
You will find in the “Gardening for Life” exhibit, wonderful examples done with creativity to garner the interest of children in gardening. Visit the sensory garden and modified container gardening to lessening maintenance.
Want to create enhanced environmental gardening? Come and see the “Rainwater Management” displays with pervious concrete, the very unique dog house green roof, and several other options for water management including rain barrel downspout options.
Having trouble with bats, slugs, deer, etc.? Let our “Natural Pest Control” exhibit show you ways to control these unwanted pests and keep them from entering your garden by means other than chemicals.
You will appreciate the display showing that no matter where you live, composting can easily be integrated into your lifestyle. It is a cost effective, easy procedure that anyone can adapt and the finished product is a valuable resource.
Come and see our “Pollinators” entrance with habitat on one side and benefits on the other connected by the explanation of the life cycle of a fly, beetle, butterfly and a bee.
After you have enjoyed the wind tunnel, be sure to go to the Youth Tent where 3M and other companies will fascinate all with scientific experiments and fun.
You do not want to miss being a part of this huge endeavor!
