UW-River Falls will host the WIAC track and field championships this weekend at the Ramer Field Sports Complex.
The two-day event starts at noon on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Some of the finest track and field athletes in the Midwest will compete in the annual event.
UW-La Crosse will aim for a 20th consecutive title at the WIAC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship while the UW-La Crosse women will look for a fourth straight title.
UW-RF senior Colleen Kopel captured the women’s heptathlon in 2009, while sophomore Becky Ponick was victorious in the javelin in 2008.
Tickets will be on sale at the Ramer Track and Field Complex ticket booth from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7, and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8. An adult one-day ticket is $10. A student (children six years old and over; college student with current ID) and senior citizen one-day ticket is $5. An adult weekend ticket is $15. A student and senior citizen weekend ticket is $8. Children age five and under will be admitted free. Credit/debit cards cannot be accepted.
