Loomis, Cudd lead Wildcat All-BRC wrestling contingent

The success of the Wildcat wrestling team this season is on full display on the list of wrestlers named to the 2009-10 All-Big Rivers Conference team.
A total of nine Wildcats, led by first team selections Cam Loomis and Logan Cudd, earned spots on the all-conference team. Only BRC champion Hudson, with 13, had more individuals selected.
Loomis made the first team at 140 pounds and Cudd at 119 while senior Peter Wolff earned second team honors at 112, junior Adam Figi at 152, senior Josh Kinneman at 171, sophomore Tyson Bystrom at 189, and junior Matt Linehan at 215.
Earning honorable mention were senior Austin Johnson at 135 and junior Nick Johnson at 285.
Loomis and Cudd both won conference, regional and sectional championships this season. Cudd, a junior, finished the season with a record of 42-3 and took third at the WIAA State Individual Championships while Loomis, a senior, went 40-4 and was a state qualifier.
Bystrom also qualified for the state tournament this year and finished the season with a record of 28-14.
Wolff posted a record of 29-12 and took third at this year’s sectional tournament while Figi was a sectional qualifier and finished with a record of 38-12. Kinneman went 28-13 and Linehan was 27-12 and both were sectional qualifiers.
Austin Johnson and Nick Johnson also advanced to the sectional tournament this season. Austin Johnson finished the season with a record of 18-15 while Nick Johnson went 24-15.
Hudson had the most individuals named to the All-BRC team with 13 followed by River Falls with nine. Conference runner-up Chippewa Falls had eight wrestlers honored while Eau Claire Memorial had five, Menomonie three and Rice Lake two.
The Wildcats finished third in the BRC this season with a record of 4-2 (11-6 overall).
