The River Falls Moms and Dads group have set activities for members in March including a “ladies night out,” Club Just Jump, a trip to Children’s Museum, and a potluck dinner. The club meets every Wednesday morning (except when school is in session) from 9-11 a.m. at Ezekiel Church. New members are always welcome. The piano students of Barb Wall will present their annual spring recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at the United Methodist Church, 127 S. Twin Cities-based old-time string band the Barn Cats will play for the “Second Saturday” Barn Dance at the Academy Gym on West Maple Street on Saturday, March 20, from 7-10 p.m. No experience is necessary, all dances are taught by a caller. All ages are invited, singles and couples welcome. Family dances suitable for children predominate during the first half, with more advanced dances in the second half. Barn dances are a joint project of River Falls Community Arts Base and River Falls Parks and Recreation, admission is $5 for adults and $2.50 for 12 and under. Inexpensive refreshments are available.
Trained personnel at the Pierce County Public Health Department will inspect children’s car seats for proper installation at its permanent fitting station. The station is located in the Public Health Office, 412 W. Kinne St., Ellsworth. Call 273-6755 for an appointment.
