River Falls firefighters responded to a trailer house blaze at Fox’s Trailer Court on the east side of Hwy. 35 just north of the city at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2.

Interim Fire Chief Chris Cernohous said the blaze was a “challenge to extinguish” because the trailer had been remodeled with extra walls and a roof. Luckily, the trailer was empty at the time of the fire and did not spread to neighboring homes.

Cernohous said his department is following up on leads today (Wednesday) but has not yet determined what caused the fire.

No people were hurt during the blaze, which left the small home uninhabitable. Firefighters finished their work and left the scene shortly after midnight.
