MADISON - Down 4-2 with a 1:27 to go in the third period, River Falls High School wrestler Logan Cudd rallied for six points and won the Division 1, 119-pound third place match at the WIAA State Wrestling Meet Saturday afternoon at the Kohl Center.

Cudd trailed Shawano's Jared Kust in that final period but Cudd said he knew he wasn't licked yet.

"I made up my mind before the match I wasn't going to lose," Cudd said. "I pushed as hard as a could and forced him to make mistakes I took advantage of."

River Falls head coach Brady Cudd said that Logan's conditioning proved decisive.

"Logan is in excellent shape," Brady said. "He's a very physical wrestler and that can ware opponents down and it did so in this case."

Cudd won earlier in the day 4-1 over Kaukauna's Jordan Bobier to advance to the third place match.

Cudd finished sixth in last year's state meet.
