Two Wildcat wrestlers lose in consolation semifinal

MADISON - Two River Falls High School wrestlers were eliminated in the consolation round of the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Meet Friday morning at the Kohl Center.
Cam Loomis lost at 140 pounds to Kegan Geenrich of Hortonville by a 7-4 decision in the Division 1 tournament.
Tyson Bystrom lost to Green Bay Preble-East's Mark VandenAvond 9-7 at 189 pounds. Bystrom led 6-4, rallying from an early deficit in the match. But he gave up a five-point throw during the middle of the third period and fell behind 9-7. He got an escape and only trailed by two at 9-7. He ran out of time trying desperately to get the last takedown.
River Falls' Logan Cudd will be wrestling in Friday evening's semifinals. He will take on Pulaski's Jonathan Enderby at 119 pounds. The semifinals begin at 7 p.m.
