MADISON - Two wrestlers in River Falls' contingent advanced to the quarterfinals in the Division 1 meet at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament Thursday.

Logan Cudd won his first round match by an 11-5 decison over Kody Azarian of Waterford. Cudd trailed in the match in the first period 4-1 but scored quickly in the second to take a 7-3 lead. Cudd scored two more takedowns in the third period in the win.

Cam Loomis at 140 defeated Joey Organ of Tomah 8-1. Loomis went up 4-0 in the first period and added two more takedowns in the second and third periods.

Tyson Bystrom lost at 189 to Oak Creek's Kyle Wey 15-4. Bystrom only trailed 4-2 at the end of one but gave up a five-point throw at the start of the second period and only manged two more escapes for the rest of the match.

Cudd wrestles Hartford's Nate Hennes (36-5) in the quarterfinals while Loomis takes on Alex Dieringer of Port Washington (42-1).
