HUDSON: Health workshop invites public
A Community Health Improvement Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, March 3, at the Hudson Hospital and Clinics conference center.
A lecture, case studies and small group activities are planned for interested persons to learn about action, implementation and evaluation planning of a five-year program called St. Croix County Community Health Improvement Plan. The plan is aimed at improving the overall health of residents in St. Croix County.

HUDSON: ‘Sustainability 401’ presented at Phipps
@tl:Dr. Kelly Cain, director of the St. Croix Institute for Sustainable Community development at UW-River Falls, will present “Sustainability 401: The St. Croix Valley Has Come a Long Way Since 101” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Black Box of The Phipps Center for the Arts. The public is invited to the free event. No reservations are required. Entertainment will be provided by the Kinni Song Sisters, and a reception will follow Cain’s presentation. HUDSON: New exhibition focuses on water
A new exhibition exploring local water issues and featuring work by area artists will be on view through Sunday, March 28, in the Atrium Gallery of The Phipps Center for the Arts. The exhibit, “Creating Confluence: How Can Artists Effect Change?” includes these artists: Gloria Adrian, Barbara Riegel Bend, Sheila Bergman, Cheryl Boetcher, Karla Faith, Amy Klein, Patty Kuebker Johnson, Bernard Marks, Mary Perkins, Bonnie Ploger, Linda Nordby Simpson and Teri Power. An artists’ reception will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, March 5. The exhibit and reception are both free and open to the public. HUDSON: Dance company performs concert
The Phipps Dance Company will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 12 and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at The Phipps Center for the Arts. Thirteen girls from the St. Croix Valley will perform. Lexi Bruns, Katie Byron and Nara Tashjian of River Falls are three of the 13. Styles performed will include tap, hip-hop, modern, lyrical and contemporary ballet. PIERCE COUNTY: Car seat fitting station available
Trained personnel at the Pierce County Public Health Department will inspect children’s car seats for proper installation at its permanent fitting station. The station is located in the Public Health office, 412 W. Kinne St., Ellsworth. Call 273-6755 for an appointment.

The Willow River Riders saddle Club will hold its seventh annual Tack Swap and Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Croix Central Elementary School.
