Letter: Climate change? Let Dick Cheney be your guide

The recent letters denying climate change have gotten more and more shrill, so it may be useful to take a different perspective.

Today, 99% of all climate scientists confirm that the planet has warmed and is warming faster and faster.

Let’s compare this to the invasion of Iraq. Dick Cheney used the 1% doctrine to justify the invasion — if there is even a 1% chance that Saddam has nuclear weapons, then we should invade.

Well, now there is a 99% chance that we are cooking the planet, and all the models predict far worse destruction on our planet than any nuclear weapon could deliver.

Maybe all the climate naysayers should adopt the Cheney approach and start demanding action to stop the catastrophe of global warming using any means possible.
