Former Wildcat assistant basketball coach Denny Burich, right, reacts as his wife Jackie holds up a shirt head coach Greg Gaulke, left, surprised Burich with on behalf of the team before last Tuesday’s game against Amery at the high school gym.
Burich retired this season after 39 years with the Wildcat program, the last 22 as an assistant to Gaulke.
The shirt had Burich’s name and years of service on the back and the words “friend” and “coach” on the sleeves.
