Public hearings begin Friday, Dec. 11 on a plan to improve Wisconsin’s ground-water standards. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants to create limits for 15 new contaminants. They include four pesticides, chemical residues after pesticides break down, and chemicals related to the making of explosives. The DNR will take testimony on the new standards in Madison, Eau Claire, Oshkosh, Stevens Point, and Baraboo. The DNR will also take written comments through December 30th.
