Letter: Vital legislation, no representation

I am horrified that (purportedly) only three Democrats crafted the Obama Health Care bill, behind a closed door. Surely, had a Republican been able to locate that door, there would have been a sign stating: “No Republicans need apply.”
This means that there are millions and millions of citizens with absolutely NO representation in the drafting of this bill. Those other than Democrats have been summarily dismissed.
Where was the “transparency” promised (it’s on tape) by Mr. Obama while campaigning? Where was the television coverage of the health care reform talks he promised on the same tape?
The government could not properly handle Cash for Clunkers ($24,000 per clunker cost to taxpayers); the bailout of the auto companies and the bailout of Wall Street (the auto companies just repeat their errors and Wall Street refuses to trim giant excesses in bonuses); the Post Office (billions of dollars in debt); or even keep its promises, yes, promises, that there would be plenty of H1N1 vaccine in plenty of time (there isn’t). It cannot correctly apply a flu vaccine program, yet propose to handle all health care?
If this travesty of a health reform bill passes, approximately half the country had no representation, and the government has acquired a HUGE inroad into the private sector. Sounds very Big Brother and chillingly scary to me.
