Have you ever wondered why River Falls students do so well on state and national reading tests?
In my opinion, one of the reasons is the value placed on literacy and reading in this community. Evidence of this is seen in the success of the recent annual AAUW Book Sale.
In one month, enough books were collected in barrels placed at Dick’s Fresh Market and EconoFoods to fill the vacant store front provided by Peter McCarty.
Many customers purchased great used books, enough to raise over $3,000 which will be used for scholarships and fellowships.
