Artist’s work depicts real people
Portraits of people, plants, animals or things are what River Falls artist Ed Landin does best, according to Katie Chaffee, the River Falls Public Library’s event coordinator. That’s why she’s planned a collection of Landin’s work done in charcoal, ink, colored pencil, watercolor, and pastel to be on display at the library beginning Friday, Nov. 13.

Landin, who in addition to being an artist, has been a science teacher and a resort owner, will be on hand during an artist’s reception from 4-6 p.m. the same day as the opening. His work will be displayed through Wednesday, Dec. 23.
Many of his pieces will be for sale. The artist will also take commissions. He creates his portraits from photographs, preferably those he takes himself of the subject, but can work from any photo.
