An insurance executive has been suspended from his job, while facing charges that he secretly made nude videos of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and put them online.

Michael Barrett, 47, of suburban Chicago appeared in court Monday, where a prosecutor said Barrett also made and posted videos of other unsuspecting women. Authorities said he modified peepholes in hotel rooms, shot the Andrews videos using a cell phone, and tried to sell them to the celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.

Prosecutors said one of eight videos could have been shot at a Milwaukee hotel, while the others were apparently made in Nashville, where the FBI said Barrett specifically asked for a room next to Andrews.

Barrett works in sales for Combined Insurance of suburban Chicago.

The company would not say how long he’s suspended for or whether he’s getting paid.

Barrett is free on a $4,500 bond, and he must wear an ankle monitoring bracelet. He’s due in federal court in Los Angeles Oct. 23 on a charge of interstate stalking.
