Turningpoint walk is Saturday

A two-mile benefit walk starting about 10:20 a.m. Saturday at Glen Park is being sponsored by Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence. Individual walkers and teams are taking pledges to raise money for the local domestic abuse shelter.

A two-mile benefit walk starting about 10:20 a.m. Saturday at Glen Park is being sponsored by Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Individual walkers and teams are taking pledges to raise money for the local domestic abuse shelter.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. A brief program follows at 10 a.m.

Speakers include Turningpoint director Kim Wojcik, Board President John O’Boyle and police investigator Chuck Golden.

Golden will talk about his work in child-abuse cases with the police department.

The actual walk runs north on Main Street until Maple, then over to Second Street and south to East Cascade Avenue before returning to Glen Park.

After the walk there will be free brats, burgers, chips, cookies and drinks. Prizes, such as Green Bay Packer hats and bags, will be given in various categories for the top fundraisers.
