UW-RF Homecoming events set

Students, staff and alumni at UW-River Falls are preparing themselves to jump in a time machine as they welcome this year’s Homecoming, “Throughout the Decades.”

Students, staff and alumni at UW-River Falls are preparing themselves to jump in a time machine as they welcome this year’s Homecoming, “Throughout the Decades.”

Events run Thursday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 27.

The first event to start things off will be a Medallion Hunt in the University Center. Clues will be at the front desk, starting 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21. A new clue will be presented every morning and will end Friday, Sept. 25.

On Thursday, Sept. 24, there will be a Cornhole Tournament (bean bags) on the University Center Mall at 5 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 there will be a Lip Sync event with Comedian Dan Cummins in the North Hall Auditorium.

Several events take place Saturday, Sept. 26, including an alumni and friends coffee hour from 8-10 a.m. at the Heritage Hall in the University Center.

The Homecoming Parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with a Tailgate Party at Ramer Field starting at 11 a.m.

The much-anticipated Homecoming football game will start at 1 p.m. against Alma College with the coronation of king and queen at half time.

Comedian Rob O’Reilly will perform in the University Center Ballroom at 8 p.m. There will be a DJ Dance in the Falcons Nest at 9:30 p.m., right after O’Reilly’s performance.

Several alumni reunions are planned for on Saturday, including: Alpha Gamma Rho, Wrestling and Wrestling Cheerleaders Reunion, Vets Club Reunion, 1979 and 1984 Championship Football Team Reunion and Halftime Recognition, Phi Nu Chi, Kappa Delta, Psi and Sigma Sigma Sigma (the early years 1960s and 1970s), Phi Mu Alumnae Reunion, Theta Chi Alumni Reunion, Football Alumni Reunion, College of Ag (CAFES) 1959 Reunion.

Homecoming wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 27, with a Concert Choir Homecoming Concert directed by UW-RF Professor J. W. Park. That will take place in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building, Room 131, from 3-4:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors and $2 for children.

All former concert choir members are invited back to campus for a choir performance. Call the music department for attendance information at 425-3183.
