Three beat up one; suspects still loose
River Falls police are on the hunt for three male suspects who allegedly pummeled and badly injured a 21-year-old local man in the 200 block of East Pine Street after midnight Saturday. The victim was hospitalized with, among other injuries, a fractured eye socket and chipped teeth. He also needed stitches around the eye. The man said he was walking home from Ground Zero bar downtown when he was confronted by the three near his home.

However, he was soon caught, taken to the ground, handcuffed, with one officer pointing a Taser gun at him. The Ellsworth man racked up $417 in fines before being released.
After being threatened with jail, the man was given a $177 fine and released.
--Arrested a 34-year-old Milwaukee man for drunk driving and possession of drug paraphernalia last week Tuesday night after allegedly making an illegal U-turn at Main and Walnut streets. During a search of the man’s pockets, officers said they recovered a small tin with a Care Bear image that held marijuana. That was seized as part of the evidence. The man was given fines totaling more than $1,100.
