A River Falls man celebrating his 21st birthday was arrested on three counts of third-degree sexual assault last week late at night in a downtown alley.
The victim is also 21. She said the two hooked up earlier in the night with others who were bar hopping on Main Street.
As the two walked through the alley later on, the woman said her companion began to kiss and fondle her before undoing and pulling off her pants. She said she tried to say no but didn’t yell for help because nobody was around.
Both the assailant and victim were described as intoxicated.
The sexual encounter lasted for 15-20 minutes and was interrupted by a truck driving drove down the alley. Shortly after that the two separated.
The woman told friends what happened. Police were soon called. The woman was then examined by a St. Croix Valley Sexual Assault Response Team nurse.
The man was questioned later that day at his apartment and then taken to county jail in Ellsworth.
Last week police also:
He was found next day downtown on the Riverwalk. The boy allegedly tried to hide some marijuana in a bandana before his arrest but this was found as was the jewelry. The boy was taken to a secure juvenile detention facility in Eau Claire.
