Fair fun started yesterday

The 126th annual Pierce County Fair Wednesday-Sunday promises animals, exhibits, entertainment, food, fun, talent, tradition and more.

The 126th annual Pierce County Fair Wednesday-Sunday promises animals, exhibits, entertainment, food, fun, talent, tradition and more. Visitors can check out $25,000 in free entertainment; 10,000 contest entries and over 100 commercial exhibits.

A new midway, a tribute to the county’s Century Farms, a salute to veterans Thursday offers free admission to them, senior-citizen day discount Friday, talent shows, comedy and magic acts, animal competitions await fairgoers.

Admission to the fairgrounds in Ellsworth, 364 N. Maple St., costs $5; children 7 years old and younger get in free. Fair gates open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
