A quarter-million-dollar renovation of the Golf View soccer fields got started Friday after a 20-year lease was signed between the River Falls Wildcat Soccer Association and the city.
The project involves installing athletic-friendly turf, in-ground irrigation and off-street parking. Eight new fields will be redesigned on the east and west sides of the Golf View basin.
The fields won’t be ready for soccer use until September 2010. Instead, fields at Hoffman Park and Meyer Middle School will be used. The RFWSA is taking registration for the Fall Recreational Soccer Program for players entering kindergarten through eighth grade.
