Letter: Visitors discover local pleasures

My husband and I were in River Falls last week to visit our daughter, who was doing her graduate internship at UW-River Falls.

Just wanted to say how impressed we were with the city — not only a lovely location, but a pretty downtown, friendly people, and some great values too. Loved the Best Maid cookies and the cheese curds (although that squeak is hard to get used to!)

You have a real gem of a business in Debra Overbye’s The Servant Quarters Bed and Breakfast. It was a very comfortable and “homey” place to stay, very affordable too. Deb is a sweetheart — a wonderful person to associate with your community.

Wish we lived closer. I’d like to have our next office planning retreat there!

Mike and I wish everyone in River Falls a very successful year and thank you for making our stay so pleasant.
