As high school student Mark Hall worked side by side his employer, a farmer from Chetek, the older gentleman asked Hall if he’d ever considered becoming a pastor.

Something about Hall’s personality and amiable attitude made the farmer ask, what Hall said was for him, a thought provoking question.

Hall was temporarily taken aback by the older man’s inquiry, but just as quickly, Hall said, it became the beginning of an “irresistible call” to do God’s work.

On Sunday, Hall, the now well-seasoned pastor gave his first worship service in River Falls to the congregation at Ezekiel Lutheran Church. He has accepted the call to lead his fellow Lutherans here.

Pastor Hall replaces former Interim Pastor Bruce Williams, who led Ezekiel’s parishioners for about the last year. Hall’s installation will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the church, 202 S. Second St., and the public is invited to attend.
