Letter: Why not extend all the blame back to Reagan?

Wanda Brown of River Falls put a new twist on the blame Bush/Cheney for all the problems of the United States.

Wanda Brown of River Falls put a new twist on the blame Bush/Cheney for all the problems of the United States.

She wrote last week that she was disappointed that President Obama hasn’t done anything about all the misdeeds of the previous administration in its eight years in office.

She is concerned that if Obama doesn’t do something to bring the miscreants to justice, succeeding administrations may find it acceptable to do the same thing.

That idea is very creative. It leaves the door open for Obama and blame Bush, Cheney, and Rove to continue the Afghanistan war, spend more trillions of taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street, General Motors, Chrysler and banks.

I thought this was about helping the little guy, not the rich.

Think of it: The Bush war can continue for another four to eight years. By that time, Obama can find another country to attack — maybe North Korea — and spend trillions more on universal health care. But it won’t be Obama’s fault.

I think Wanda Brown is onto something. Although she could broaden her horizons by taking this line of reasoning clear back to Reagan. Can’t blame those squeaky clean Democrats can we?

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Obama doesn’t find out that there is a number higher than a trillion. Our kids and grandkids will get to pay for it and they too can blame Bush.
