“To be a public school superintendent today is to provide leadership in an age of pressure. The role has been characterized by some as trying to ride the backs of two dolphins at the same time. One dolphin represents the changing expectations of the community and the larger society, while the other represents the sensitive and difficult issues and performance of the school system.

Good sports
The River Falls traveling Mites hockey team, coached by Kent Manglitz, won the Sportsmanship Award at the Mite A Tournament in Onalaska Jan. 30-31. Back on Jan. 9-10, the team took second place in a Mite A Tournament in Baldwin.
