Looking to rekindle a childhood interest or are you interested in learning how to play the most popular game in the world? And are you between the ages of 7 and 107?
Look no further than River Falls Days on Friday, July 10.
The First Congregational United Church of Christ is sponsoring Marble Mania on July 10 at the church located at the corner of Elm and Third streets.
Starting at 11 a.m., marble enthusiast Tom Fletcher, will be giving instructions on the basic rules of the game of marbles. Fletcher is co-owner of the Essence of Nonsense toy store in St. Paul, and runs many tournaments in the area.
Beginning at noon entrants can practice their skills prior to the single-elimination tournament which starts at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to winners in the various age categories.
Cost of entering is $2. For that fee entrants will receive a bag of marbles to take home.
In addition, an equal number of marbles will be sent to the Barb DeSouza mission project in Brazil for children living in the shanty towns of Rio de Janeiro.
To register, contact the church at 110 North Third St. or use the online registration form at www.firstchurchrf.org. Click on the fellowship section.
Entry forms are also available at the River Falls Chamber of Commerce downtown office.
