Dark- and light-blue ribbons hang around all of Main Street’s downtown boulevard trees as of this week to remind people of sexual assault and child abuse awareness month. The ribbons honor victims and survivors.
In a letter to the editor this week, Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence’s Victim Services Coordinator, Alena Taylor, said the ribbons “make the statement that violence will not be tolerated in our community.”
