River Falls police, using an undercover officer, broke up a house party at 701 S. Main St. over the weekend. It was estimated there were at least 100 people in the house, many underage. The undercover officer paid a $5 cover to get in. Beer was furnished from a basement keg. The party was raided because there didn’t seem to be any effort to check I.D.s.

Three young men from the party were each given $298 fines for procuring and selling alcohol to underage persons. Because of the party’s size, officers decided against giving citations to the underage beer drinkers.

In the past week, police also:

  • Arrested a 55-year-old rural River Falls man for drunk driving-3rd offense and driving while revoked on South Main Street on a weekday afternoon.

  • Arrested an 18-year-old rural River Falls man for drunk driving-2nd offense and driving while revoked at Second and Spring streets Saturday at 4:25 a.m.

  • Arrested a 24-year-old Hudson man for disorderly conduct and property damage at Coach’s Bar, 127 S. Main St. The man had no I.D. and had been kicked out of Coach’s twice. He allegedly then threw a mug at the front door, breaking the glass. An employee chased the man down the block, caught and brought him back until officers arrived.

  • Arrested a 17-year-old Prescott boy for failing to stop for a school bus outside Fox’s Trailer Court on the Hwy. 35 frontage road. The 17-year-old allegedly turned left from the trailer court, but failed to stop for the bus with its flashing red lights, extended stop sign and students getting out.

  • Have questioned a 22-year-old local male suspect in a battery case at Holiday, 302 S. Main St., last Thursday at 2 a.m. The suspect is accused of opening the door of another man’s car in the Holiday parking lot and repeatedly punching the man in the face, leaving him bloody and in pain. The attack seems random. The suspect’s girlfriend was also at Holiday. She said she broke up with him and that he seemed angry to see her at Holiday. Charges are pending with the Pierce County district attorney.
