River Falls Area Hospital hosts an open house of its sleep center 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, March 2.

Dr. Daniel Zimmerman, the center’s director, will facilitate the event and lead an educational session about common sleeping disorders including insomnia.

People come to the center for clinical evaluation and treatment of disorders like narcolepsy and sleep apnea. Other possible patients might be those having trouble staying alert during the day or falling or staying asleep at night.

The center includes a home-like bedroom with a private bath, TV and cable, a DVD player and adjustable room temperature. Patients normally spend the night so doctors can monitor their sleep patterns and behavior.

RFAH will serve light refreshments at the open house. Call 426-4639 with questions.
