CITY OF RIVER FALLS: 2/3/09 PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Plan Commission for the City of River Falls will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 6:31 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 123 East Elm Street, River Falls, Wisconsin, 54022.

The public meeting is being held to review and make recommendations to Council on repealing Chapter 15.24, Floodplain Zoning Ordinance, and creating Chapter 17.120, Floodplain Zoning Ordinance, of the City of River Falls. The Federal Emergency Manage-ment Agency (FEMA) has undertaken a nationwide effort to update all floodplain insurance maps in the country. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is requiring all municipalities to update their floodplain ordinances to be in conformance with the FEMA efforts.

Further information and a draft copy of the ordinance is available at the Community Development Office in City Hall, 425-0900, ext. 111.

All persons interested in this issue will be given an opportunity to be heard.
