Letter: These guys were inspiring

Just a shout out to the 2008 Wildcat football team, coaches and everybody involved. Thank you. It’s been a great ride!

I’ve had the pleasure and privilege to get to know some of the parents. Thanks for your friendship and can-do attitude. You know who you are!

For all the team members who spent most of the time on the sideline supporting your fellow teammates on the field, you guys have practiced and worked hard with limited time under the lights. My hat’s off to all of you.

Juniors: I’ll catch up with you in the future. Seniors: Well, it’s hard to believe we won’t be watching you again.

I remember when you played flag and were small boys. Now you’re men — strong and fast — and you guys can play football!

I respect you all and will remember the atmosphere and real energy at games. It really makes a person feel alive, with a tear in my eye.

Thanks again. It’s been awesome!
