Joy. Peace. Beauty. Prosperity.

Those words are the mantra Jacky Luka of River Falls says she hopes her new business venture will evoke in customers when they shop at the Sapphire Boutique.

That’s the name Luka’s chosen for the store that replaces the vacated Bella Luce clothing store in the Beyond Lighting shopping mall, corner of Main and Maple streets.

The four words are prominently displayed in the shop.

“I’ll be offering quality apparel, mostly ladies’ with some for juniors, and also footwear in a wide range of sizes and styles,” said Luka. The styles will be current, she added, but with an emphasis on the traditional and those that are comfortable to wear.

Born and raised in River Falls and with previous experience working in a retail setting, Luka says she’s always wanted to own her own business. When the opportunity presented itself with Bella Luce closing, she decided the time was right.

For now she’ll be working solo until the business settles in.

“I’ll be living here,” she said with a laugh.

Sapphire Boutique’s hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

During this month and in December, Luka, along with the other business owners in the Beyond Lighting complex will offer holiday sale specials.

She plans a grand opening sometime in the future as well.

“I’m open to input from customers,” says Luka. “I’d like to hear what they desire and get a feel for what people are looking for.”

Luka invites all area residents to stop by and share their thoughts with her anytime as of 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, the official opening of the Sapphire Boutique, 127 N. Main St.

She can also be reached by phone at 377-8440.
