Sixteen survivors of the 2005 Chippewa Falls High School band bus crash have filed civil suits.
The latest plaintiff got his case in just before yesterday’s deadline under the three-year statute of limitations.
The crash killed five people on Interstate-94 near Osseo in the overnight hours of Oct. 16 of 2005.
The band was heading home from a state competition in Whitewater when an oncoming trucker crashed his rig into the opposite lanes and the driver of the lead bus slammed into the wreckage in the darkness.
Twenty-nine people were injured.
The latest to file suit, Jessica Rozga, said she still gets physical therapy three times a week and she’s had numerous surgeries caused by the crash.
