If the school board agrees tonight, Pat McCardle will come out of retirement to become interim assistant principal at Meyer Middle School.

McCardle was Greenwood Elementary principal for many years. He retired in spring 2007. McCardle was also activities director at the high school for a year.

The school board holds a special meeting tonight (Monday) to vote on the recommendation of McCardle made by Superintendent Tom Westerhaus and Meyer Principal Mike Johnson.

Thirty-four applied for the job. Three finalists were interviewed last week.

The assistant principal position became available suddenly this summer when Greg Danke died of an apparent heart attack.
