Local landmarks to be dedicated

On Saturday, June 14, the Historic Preservation Commission will honor Glen Park and the Swinging Bridge for their historic value and role in the community.
The ceremony, to be held at the park at 10:30 a.m., will officially dedicate the sites as local landmarks. Retired teacher Jeanne Zirbel and her third grade class of 2007 nominated the park and bridge for their long history and local popularity, as well as the bridge’s uncommon architecture.
Two plaques commemorate the two landmarks and summarize their history.
