The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, UW-Oshkosh, and UW-Whitewater won their opening games Thursday at the NCAA Division 3 softball tournament.
UW-Whitewater crushed Coe College 9-1 at the Rock Island Regional. The Warhawks will play Wartburg College in the winner’s bracket this (Friday) afternoon.
At the Eau Claire Regional, the sixth-seeded host school upset No. 3 North Central 10-0 in five innings.
UW-Eau Claire will play UW-Oshkosh tonight in the winner’s bracket, after UW-Oshkosh shut out Aurora in its opener 7-0.
Ripon College lost to top-seeded St. Thomas 8-0 in six innings. Ripon faces elimination today when it plays Illinois Wesleyan in the loser’s bracket.
